1. Terms
The What Cornwall Thinks website service comprises the front-end website located at https://whatcornwallthinks.co.uk and the What Cornwall Thinks panel management system located at https://pfa-research.panelservice.io, hereafter referred to as ‘the Sites’ or ‘our sites’. Both Sites are operated and wholly owned by PFA Research Ltd., hereafter referred to as ‘We’ or ‘the Company’.
By accessing the Sites you are agreeing to be bound by these terms of service, all applicable laws and regulations, and agree that you are responsible for compliance with any applicable local laws. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing the Sites. The materials contained in the Sites are protected by applicable copyright and trademark law.
2. Use License
a) Access to our sites is allowed on a temporary basis and We reserve the right to amend or withdraw content without notice.
b) Whilst We endeavour to keep our site available at all times, We will not be liable if for any reason our sites are unavailable at any time and for any period.
c) We are the owner of material on our sites. Our clients have granted permission for the use of certain images.
d) You may print and download material from the Sites for your personal reference and you may share the content with colleagues within your organisation, provided that you do not modify nor reproduce any content without our prior written permission.
e) Any material that you send to our sites will be covered under our Privacy Policy.
3. Disclaimer
a) The materials on the Sites are provided on an ‘as is’ basis. What Cornwall Thinks makes no warranties, expressed or implied, and hereby disclaims and negates all other warranties including, without limitation, implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement of intellectual property or other violation of rights.
b) Further, What Cornwall Thinks does not warrant or make any representations concerning the accuracy, likely results, or reliability of the use of the materials on the Sites or otherwise relating to such materials or on any sites linked to our sites.
4. Limitations
In no event shall What Cornwall Thinks or its suppliers be liable for any damages (including, without limitation, damages for loss of data or profit, or due to business interruption) arising out of the use or inability to use the materials on the Sites, even if What Cornwall Thinks or a What Cornwall Thinks authorised representative has been notified orally or in writing of the possibility of such damage. Because some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties, or limitations of liability for consequential or incidental damages, these limitations may not apply to you.
5. Accuracy of materials
The materials appearing on the Sites could include technical, typographical, or photographic errors. What Cornwall Thinks does not warrant that any of the materials on its website are accurate, complete or current. What Cornwall Thinks may make changes to the materials contained on its website at any time without notice. However, What Cornwall Thinks does not make any commitment to update the materials.
6. Links
What Cornwall Thinks has not reviewed all of the sites linked to its website and is not responsible for the contents of any such linked site. The inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement by What Cornwall Thinks of the site. Use of any such linked website is at the user’s own risk.
7. Modifications
What Cornwall Thinks may revise these terms of service for the Sites at any time without notice. By the Sites, you are agreeing to be bound by the then current version of these terms of service.
8. Misuse of our site
You must not knowingly misuse our sites, by introducing viruses or other material that malicious or damaging, either technically or reputationally.
9. Exclusion of liability
We do not accept responsibility for any loss or damage that you suffer as a result of using our sites.
10. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England, and you irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that country or location.
Panel Membership Terms and Conditions
1. Membership
a) All residents (aged 18 years or older) in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland are able to join the PFA Research Ltd ‘What Cornwall Thinks’ (WCT) A valid UK address and a unique and individual email address (i.e. one unique email address per individual panel member) is a condition of What Cornwall Thinks membership.
b) WCT membership cannot be shared between individuals and there may only be one WCT membership per person. Any person found to have more than one WCT membership shall forfeit all compensation earned and have all membership accounts closed.
c) WCT will ask for some basic information about you and will use this background information to choose samples from the WCT membership (e.g. car drivers, parents of young children, pet owners, people who have used a particular product or service, etc.). When you are picked for a sample, we will send you an email, telling you that there is a survey ready for you to complete. All of our surveys comply with the Market Research Society guidelines. You do not have to complete any survey that we invite you to – but we would really like you to if you are one of the people selected. For each survey you complete, you will be eligible to receive compensation (see section 4 for details).
d) If you no longer wish to receive our promotional materials or newsletters, you may opt-out of receiving these communications by unsubscribing, either online or by sending an email to us at participate@pfa-research.com. (Please note that it may take a little time for your details to be updated in this regard, but we endeavour to do so within 10 working days.)
2. Registration
a) In order to join the PFA Research Ltd ‘WCT’ Panel, you will need to complete the online registration form. This is linked from the Sign Up button on https://whatcornwallthinks.co.uk or directly at
b) As part of the registration process you will need to create a member profile which will include your contact information (such as your name and email address) so that WCT can contact you with surveys. We might also use this contact information to notify you of other services and promotions on our site for which you have expressed interest. Information you provide, such as via your membership registration, will also include demographic information so that we only send you relevant surveys and to enable us to analyse your responses.
c) Please keep your personal information up to date. All notifications, compensation and prizes will be sent to the contact details in your member profile. PFA Research Ltd cannot be held liable for any notification, compensation or prizes which are not received by WCT panel members if the panel member did not inform WCT of any changes to their contact details in a timely manner.
3. Your Undertakings
Username and password
a) Registering as a WCT Panel Member, you agree to keep your username and/or password safe and not disclose them to anyone.
b) Individual WCT Panel Members may be liable for any loss or damage caused to What Cornwall Thinks or PFA Research Limited, resulting from the disclosure by them of usernames and/or passwords to unauthorised individuals.
c) WCT Panel Members must inform WCT as quickly as possible if they suspect that their username and/or password has been compromised or has been disclosed with bad actors.
d) PFA Research Ltd reserves the right to revoke the WCT Membership if it is considered that a WCT Panel Member has breached any of the obligations mentioned in 3a – 3c.
Information provided
a) In consideration of WCT granting you access to the website and the opportunity to participate in surveys and free prize draws, panel members agree that they will:
i) Provide accurate, true and up to date information when registering to join the WCT Panel.
ii) Keep all details in their membership profile up to date at all times.
iii) Provide honest, accurate and complete information when answering surveys.
b) If Panel Members provide any information that is untrue, not current or false or, in the reasonable opinion of PFA Research Ltd and/or WCT is deemed to be untrue, not current or false, PFA Research Ltd and/or WCT has the right to suspend and/or terminate individual Panel Membership. Should this occur, the individual member will forfeit all compensation accumulated to date and will be precluded from rejoining the WCT Panel.
Indemnity
a) Panel Members agree to indemnify PFA Research Ltd and/or WCT Panel in respect of any and all claims, costs, losses, expenses and liabilities that PFA Research Ltd and/or WCT Panel my incur arising out of any information posted by you or any software you use in connection with posting such information or any unauthorised disclosure of confidential information by you.
4. Compensation
a) WCT Panel Members completing a survey sent to them, will be eligible to receive the incentive specified in relation to that survey.
b) The incentives will accrue to the accounts of WCT Panel Members, at such amount as is communicated at the start of the survey. WCT Panel Members can login and check their account credit, using their individual login and password created at time of registration.
c) Incentives will only be paid to WCT Panel Members when they have accrued sufficient total credit to reach or exceed the published threshold amount. This amount is currently £25 but may vary. Incentives will be paid each time a £25 milestone is reached.
d) WCT Panel Members accounts holding less than the threshold amount are deemed to have a redeemable cash value of less than 0.00001 pence.
e) When a WCT Panel Member’s account reaches or exceeds the threshold amount, PFA Research Ltd will contact them by email at their registered address. The Panellist will be given a choice of payment methods or to decide to leave the money in their account.
f) WCT Panel Members agree to respond to contact from PFA Research Ltd regarding their accounts.
g) Any WCT Panel Member’s account may be closed, with no further notice, if it holds less than the agreed threshold amount and has been inactive for a period of 12 months or longer. In the case of such closure, no value, monetary or otherwise, accrues to or is due to the Panellist.
h) Any WCT Panel Member’s account my be closed if it holds the agreed threshold amount or more, and PFA Research has made at least three (3) attempts to contact the Panellist with regards to payment (by email or otherwise), and that account has been inactive for a period of 9 months or longer. In case of such closure, the value of the threshold amount (or amounts) will be held in suspension by PFA Research Ltd for a period of no longer than three months. At the end of this point, any value reverts irrevocably to PFA Research Ltd.
i) Claims for the value of accounts closed and held in suspension may be made in writing to PFA Research Ltd, at Tremough Innovation Centre, Penryn, TR10 9TA, within 2 months of the closure of the account.
j) WCT Panel incentives, unless otherwise stated, will be paid in pounds sterling (£). There will be no currency alternatives.
k) WCT Panel incentives will only be paid to WCT Members who maintain a valid UK address throughout their WCT membership.
l) WCT Panel incentives cannot be aggregated and are not transferable from one Panel member to another.
m) PFA Research Ltd may offer Free Prize Draws in place of, or in addition to, cash incentives on some surveys and/or for some panel activities. This will be disclosed to Panel Members at the time the survey is sent to them.
n) All free Prize Draws are open to current WCT Panel Members who have been invited to participate in the survey for which the Free prize Draw is offered. No purchase is necessary. Free Prize Draw winners will be notified by the contact details held on their registered account and the names and locations of winners will be published online on the website. The terms and conditions for each Free Prize Draw will be disclosed with each draw and by participating in the relevant survey you agree to be bound by those terms and conditions.
5. Use of the Site
a) You must not resell, barter, trade or otherwise attempt to generate income by providing access to your WCT rewards to others.
b) You must not use any robot, spider, scraper or other automated means or interface not provided by us to access the WCT Site or extract data.
c) You must not engage in any other activity that WCT or PFA Research reasonably deems improper or abusive.
d) WCT/PFA Research’s clients may disclose confidential, commercially sensitive and/or proprietary information and materials to you as part of surveys, and such information and materials shall remain the sole and exclusive property of its owner. This confidential information may include, but is not limited to, new services, new product ideas or concepts, packaging concepts, advertising and movie or television concepts or trailers, and the text, visual images and sounds related thereto. By becoming a member, you agree that you will keep the contents and materials disclosed to you as part of all surveys in which you participate confidential and not disclose them to any third party or use the confidential information for any purpose except for the sole purpose of completing the survey. If you breach this obligation, in addition to forfeiture of your rewards and termination of your account, you may be liable to monetary damages to WCT/PFA Research and/or our client for damages caused by the result of your breach.
e) You may be required under local laws to pay taxes on prizes you receive. You acknowledge that we may supply information to taxing agencies, or withhold taxes, at the request of those agencies or as we, in our sole discretion, deem appropriate. You acknowledge and agree that you will provide WCT with any additional personal information that WCT needs to comply with any reporting or withholding obligations. Your failure to provide such information within 30 days of a request sent by WCT/PFA Research to the email address registered at that time may result in the forfeiture of regards or the prizes you may have won.
6. Information Collection and Use
a) Full details or how we use your personal information are set out in our Privacy Policy, linked from the Sites. The terms of the Privacy Policy will apply to any personal information submitted to us and when you register as a WCT Panel Member you will be asked to confirm that you agree to the terms of that policy.
b) PFA Research Ltd collects information from our WCT Panel Members and others in various ways, governed by the law of England and Wales and by the Market Research Code of Conduct. Once all WTC Panel Members have completed a particular survey, We then anonymise and aggregate all the answers to the survey and the summary information is passed to our client and/or published without identifying any individual person.

d) When you register as a WCT Panel Member, you agree that all information provided by you in response to a survey is the exclusive property of PFA Research Ltd.
e) We may keep records as to how many surveys you have answered and of which type. We do this, so we can try to send you the surveys you are most happy to answer.
f) To review your personal information please access the member area and go to ‘My Data’ and follow the on screen instructions.
g) To deactivate your account, please access the member area and go to ‘Close Account’ and follow the on screen instructions. Alternatively, please contact Support.
h) Data for an account closed by accident can be retrieved for 30 days after closing the account.
7. Disclaimer
a) The fact that you have registered as a WCT Panel Member does not automatically mean that you will be selected to participate in any surveys. PFA Research reserves the right to adopt any selection process it wishes in choosing WCT Panel Members for surveys.
b) You hereby accept that PFA Research Ltd shall not be liable to you with respect to any loss or damage suffered by you in connection with your registration as a WCT Panel Member and/or your participation in any survey.
c) For any feedback, complaints of any nature, or any issues with the content of any survey, please contact PFA Research Ltd at https://www.pfa-reserach.com or at PFA Research Ltd, Tremough Innovation Centre, Penryn, TR10 9TA. In particular, you should not contact any of WCT/PFA Research’s clients or the sponsor of any survey directly, under any circumstances.
d) From time to time the WCT platform provider Sample Ninja Ltd will use Machine Learning (ML) to collect and collate feedback about individual surveys taken. The results will be presented in an aggregated format (word cloud) without any personal information being attached.
